MINUTES OF THE MAY 3, 2006 BUSINESS MEETING

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order by President, Kim Tolleson, at 12:00 p.m.

Members present:

April Minutes

MOTION: Kim moved to adopt April minutes as posted w/corrections noted, Jeff seconded, motion passed unanimously. 

President’s Agenda– Kim Tolleson
  • Paul Gallus (Portola House) – Sending get well card from association
  • Hank’s at the Hook – Welcomed Hank’s to the neighborhood and invited them to May mixer
  • Rebecca’s  – now the Pleasure Point Bakery/Café
  • Memorial Weekend Sidewalk Sale – posters have been distributed


Vice President’s Report – Kim Tolleson for Jackie Heath

  • May Mixer at the Pleasure Point Inn and catered by the Pleasure Point Wine & Spirits – dubbed “The Mixer of the Year”!  Discussion re: press coverage and inviting public figures to mixer. 

Secretary/Treasurer Report

  • No special correspondence received.  New Member – Villa Vista Vacation Rental
    As of May 3, 2006 the bank balance was $11,689.22. 

Director of Government and Community Relations Report – Shirley Allen

  • Cars with for sale signs posted on them and left parked on main streets will now be ticketed
  • Still working on speed limit issues for Portola Drive
  • Waste Management bill problem cleared up
  • Next Transportation Funding Task Force Meeting:  May 10, 2006, 6:30-9:30 p.m. @ Felton Community Hall.  For more info go to www.tftaskforce.org

Marketing Director’s Report – Jeff Bettencourt

  • Streetlight Banners:  Triad Electric will complete installation of the Welcome to Pleasure Point Banners by Friday, May 5, 2006.
  • Web proposal for PPBA website:  Proposal will include a complete revamping of the PPBA website so that the website will provide a vehicle to distribute member information quickly and cost effectively, thus creating a greater value to PPBA members. Proposed cost of upgrade is $1400. Discussion of key points ensued. 

MOTION:  Shirley moved to adopt Jeff’s proposal to upgrade the PPBA website and to spend the money to do so. Sally seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.

Key website upgrades will include the following:

  • A database will index all members company information as well as display logos and description. This will allow greater search engine placements, driving more traffic to members individual sites.
  • The database will enable the entire site “searchable” making it a tool for customers to find members information quickly and easily.
  • Changeable events section for posting upcoming events and past history.
  • Meeting section for posting minutes and any additional company operations.
  • Create banner ad displays with auto rotation for possible additional revenue.
  • Client maintenance interface will be developed and uploaded for PPBA to start adding/changing data, helping reduce the cost of future changes and web site maintenance.
  • Blog section allowing members to share ideas and post questions.
